About us
Gaumond & Cella, Inc. was founded by Ray Gaumond & John Cella in 1962 with the goal of providing a better customer experience to the Midwest’s rapidly growing industrial automation market. Ray and John focused on growing the sales of a small mechanical cam manufacturer, Camco. G&C grew as Camco became the world’s preeminent manufacturer of cam indexing equipment. In the 1990’s John and Ray brought on Mark Hathaway and Max Vandergraaf. Mark was instrumental in adding servo products to the G&C portfolio. Mark would go on to purchase G&C from John and Ray during the mid 1990’s. In 2003 Max Vandergraaf bought G&C from Mark who moved into industrial distribution and is still quite active in selling G&C products. Max Vandergraaf passionately lead G&C through mergers and divestitures of its principles establishing its strong relationship with Destaco and its Camco and Robohand brands. In 2014 Eric Vandergraaf and Jay Goldberg took over from Max and are the current owners of Gaumond & Cella, Inc. Since 2014 G&C has added Moorfeed, Jenny Science and Stein Automation.
